Free Shaker Aamer Vigil

Parliament Square, London. Wed 8 Jan 2014

'I am dying to be Free' but the US auithorities seem to be waiting for Shaker Aamer to die in Guantanamo

Stand up for Shaker Aamer - Free Him Now - Close Guantanamo and Bagram

Figures in black hoods and orange suits opposite Parliament hope to remind MPs of the need to demand

that the last Londoner still held illegally in Guantanamo must be brought back to the UK

Shaker has been held in Bagram and Guantanamo for over 12 years - without charge or trial

People were still arriving to take part in the vigil as I was taking pictures. 239 is Shaker Aamer's prison number

Protesters line the pavement edge opposite Parliament

There message is also on placards and banners on the pavement

Then they walk up and down

handing out leaftlets as they do so
