A service remembers Dorothy Lawrence the only female Sapper of WW1. 

This area faces a small green area knwon as York Mermorial Park ( some of it now taken over by the builders) 

This was set aside in WW2 as a memorial to people in YorkWay killed in the blitz. People hope to have some
memorial to Dorothy Lawrence for the 100th anniversary of her short period of service on the front line on the Somme in 1915.
