Christian CND against Trident Replacement

St Martins-in-the-Fields to Whitehall, London. Sat 24 Jan 2015

Christian CNS, Pax Christi and other groups had attended a service inside the church before coming out on to

the steps. They had expected around 40 people but over a hundred had turned up

Placards showed the support of church leaders for scrapping Trident

 Quakers and Pax Christi banner

The peace scarf, a small length of the 7 mile knitted scarf that stretched from Burghfield to Aldermaston in August

Once piece went across the full width of the steps and there was more behind it

Two Buddhists from the Battersea Peace Pagoda were taking part

the Anglican Pacifist Fellowship cross

Christian CND symbol includes a cross and dove of piece

A banner reads 'War = Poverty = War - Abolish War'

A man carries the Christian CND banner, behind him come the two Buddhists

and then people of all ages carrying the peace scarf

They go onto the North Terrace of Trafalgar Square

and down across the square

Before crossing to Whitehall

Past the Old War Office to join the rest of the CND protest at the Ministry of Defence
