Illegal Security blocades St James occupationSt James's Square, London. Thu 9 Apr 2015 |

The officer, Constable Scott, listens and then turns to the security He tells them they are committing an offence by not displaying their SIA licences but although they briefly show them to the officer, they refuse to put them on display. PC Scott takes a phone number from the security and goes back to the station to get advice I try to photograph the occupiers through the glass, which isn't very clean - and has drops of water on it in places and the guards continue to stop people entering the building |

Occupiers pass out money for people to get them some suppliers which it looks as if they will have to throw up to the people on the balcony I walk round to the front of the building in Pall Mall and take a few pictures including some of the security guard there. I ask him if he knows it is a criminal offence not to show his SIA licence and he tells me that he does not have to show it, except if a police officer asks to see it. The Act is quite clear that he is wrong. I walk back and say goodbye to people and walk away - and then see the man in charge of the security guards taking a phone call. I watch and he comes over and calls the men away - and the people waiting outside cheer. People watch the security guards going away |
