Police arrest man in Trafalgar Square

Trafalgar Square, London. Wed 27 May 201

As people gathered for the NCAFC protest they saw police go up to a man sitting on a bench at question him

People went to see why he was being arrested and met with a very negative response from the Met

 and others quickly gathered around

Police started to push people away with what seemed unnecessary force, while refusing to tell them why they were arresting the man

More people came across to protest at what they thought was an unlawful arrest

and there was soon a large and noisy crowd surrounding the officers

More police arrived - and still just reacted angrily to the crowd rather than try to explain what they were doing

The crowd responded by shouting 'Let Him Go, Let Him Go!'

Police surrounded the arrested man an walked him away

he was stioll protesting his innocence

and making 'V' signs in support for those protesting his arrest.Rather than taking him to the nearby police stating

they took him to some waiting vans in Northumberland Ave. Police pushed a young man on the pavement
there roughly out of their way, and when he complained he was assualted by an officer, then arrested for assault.

The same police officer threatened me and others, pushing me away and raising his baton

People continued to object as the second man, an innocent bystander who police assaulted, was taken to a second van

An officer standing in front of the police van argues with protesters

who tell him very clearly that it isn't right to assault and arrest innocent citizens
but he is clear he is defending democracy!
