Silverdale Holiday

Silverdale, Lancashire. Sun 23 - Mon 24 Aug 2015

Sunday
Monday

The chimney by Brown's Houses is thought to be from a copper smelting works

Possibly the remains of another quay

 Brown's Houses

The view across to Quaker's Stang and Crag Foot. Stang is possibly a corruption of 'etang' or pond and Quaker of quicksand

We climbed up a steep hill - Heald Brow with occasional views through the trees and brambles

and crossed Hollins Lane into the paths to Scout Wood. It began to look like a storm was approaching, so at
Stankelt Road we took the path to the church and then rushed back to where we were staying

There were just a few drops of rain before we got back, but 20 minutes later it poured down.

Monday morning I photographed the barbecue area in the garden of the house

and the cemetery on Park Lane

oppostie the war memorial on Emesgate Lane

We took another path to Stankelt Road and walked down to Sikverdake Green

and on up Bottoms Lane and into the woods
