Shaker Aamer weekly vigils restart

Parliament Sq, London. Wed 9 Sep 2015

The Save Shaker Aamer Campaign resumed its weekly protests to remind Parliament that Shaker Aamer, a

Londoner with a wife and children in Battersea, is still locked up, still being maltreated, in the illegal US prison

camp that Obama promised to close down, despite never having been charged with any offence, and despite

having twice been cleared for release in 2007 and 2009.

Shaker Aamer was captured by bandits in Afghanistan in December 2001 and sold to the US forces.

He was tortured in Bagram before illegal rendition took him to Guantanamo, where he has been since Feb 14, 2002.

Next month he will have been held for 5000 days
