Students at Home Office and BIS

Westminster, London, Wed 4 Nov 2015

But it never looked as if they would push through

 and there was more smoke

and a stand-off between police and protesters

The protesters were starting to move away

when a large goup of police waded in towards them, grabbing photographers and others in the middle

then there was a stand-off again

the bloc prepared to move off again. Many of the 'books' had been broken by police

A thin line of police across the road stopped the protesters. Most of those actually up at the line were peaceful marchers

with the black clad protesters hanging back

Police point a someone who was holding a bunch of keys

After a few minutes one of the officers let me through the line with my press card - though half a dozen others had refused

Other protesters had walked a short way along Victoria St to wait. I walked away down a side road,
and as I did so heard a lot of noise as the students swept through the police line and ran
along the street to join up with the others. But I was tired and went home.
