A Walk in the Olympic Park
Stratford, London. Mon 31 Oct 2016
I walk through Westfield on my way to the park. The signs to it are not clear
But I walk out along the side of John Lewis towards a row of new buildings
and cross this road to the signs saying it is the entrance to the park
which doesn't look much like a park to me
There is a tree - just one - and a large empty area
across which is the Olympic swimming pool
and looking in the other direction, rail, road and empty site with machinery
The overground line comes in fron Hackney Wick
People on 'Boris bikes' ride around the park
and there are more at the stand
I peer through the patterned glass into the swimming pool. It's a weekday afternoon and the pool is empty
at tleft is the bridge I've just walked across
I walk around the pool to the side facing the Waterworks River
