Shut Down Yarls Wood 12

Yarl's Wood, Bedford. Sat 18 Nov 2017

People meet up on the roadside outside Twinwoods and hold a rally while waiting for all the coaches to arrive

Movement for Justice had some new posters, large enough so the women inside Yarls Wood would be able

to read them when they were held up facing the immigration prison.

Freddy, a former asylum detainee was the main person to speak before we left to march to Yarls Wood

 and he leads some chanting

 'Dignity Not Detention'

 Oxford Migrant Solidarity

People shout 'Yarlswood! Shut it Down!'

 'No Human is Illegal'

A young protester with a poster showing a butterfly and the message 'Freedom is a human right'

 'No One is Illegal'

 Mfj had brought a ladder

Antonia Bright of Movement for Justice speaks

 'End Detention Now'

The march to Yarls Wood starts along the road

and on the wide grass verge

then turns down the public footpath

and along a short length of a byway

then along the path beside another field. 'Brexit is Racist - Stop Brexit'

One of the campaigners kindly offered to push my bike so I could take pictures of the marcher

'Set Her Free' , 'Amnesty for All Undocumented'

'Your Blood is our Blood Your Fight is our Fight TOgether We WIn'

 People carry the MfJ banner

'Shut Down Yarls Wood + All Detention Centres'

 'Dignity Not Detention'
