No Demolitions Without Permission

City Hall, London. Sat 3 Nov 2018

People are waiting for the protest outside City Hall to start

Piers Corbyn behind a banner by Andrew Cooper

'36 Estates, Biggest Mass Eviciton in Londons History!'

Greens Agains Demolition pose for a photo

and Class War point out that Labour Councils are the biggest Social Cleansers in London

'Hands Off Our Homes - Give Reginald a Ballot'

'Fenwick Against Demolition - Ballot Us!'

 The event begins

A speaker talks about the violent and illegal eviciton of squatters from the Old TIdemill Garden in Deptford by large numbers of bailiffs and police

A woman from Cressingham Gardens speaks about Lambeth council's scheme to demolish a superb and

popular estate for a scheme which will almost entirely be for sale or rent at high market prices.

London Mayor Sadiq Khan was castigated by Green Party co-leader and London Assembly's Housing Committee chair Sian Berry for having fast-tracked

approval for 34 demolition schemes by Labour councils in the weeks before a new policy insisting residents should have ballots was adopted, for allowing

some schemes to go forward without a ballot, and for failing to insist that all residents were allowed to take part in such ballots.

Piers Corbyn - Jeremy's elder brother

 'No Demolition!!!'

'Housing is a Human Right- People over Profit !!!!'

 'Gentrification is Class War'

Two of the younger residents of Mackintosh Court speak about the council's illegal alterations on their Grade II listed building,
which they intend to demolish, making the residents, whose average age is well over 70 leave.

The plans seem an act of pure vengeance on behalf of Lambeth against these elderly residents for daring to fight
against demolition of their homes & for winning listing status.
