Extinction Rebellion Funeral Procession

Whitehall & The Mall, London. Sat 24 Nov 2018

'Only when the last tree has died & the last river has been poisoned & the last fish
has been caught will we realise that we cannot eat money.' A placard quotes
a well known piece of Native American wisdom.

People with flowers for the XR funeral

'Climate Change: 12 years to save Earth'

 'Rebel For Life'

There were several other arrests in Whitehall, including a man who police had taken a spray can from, who said he was doing it for his grandchildren

Outside Downing St, people used their bodies to make the Extinction Rebellion symbol

Others had been arrested by police, also apparently for criminal damage.

The funeral procession halted at the top of Whitehall, waiting for all the protesters to arrive

and then Gail announced that they were going to continue down The Mall to protest at Buckingham Palace

A few police officers tried to stop them, but then realised that they would not be able to, and simply accompanied

the marchers as they went through Admiralty Arch

 and on down The Mall

 Eventually coming to

Buckingham Palace - where my coverage continues on the next post.
