Free Julian Assange

Parliament Square, London. Wed 24 Apr 2019

Protesters call for Assange to be freed and not to be extradited to the USA

They say that the US want to lock him up for life for publishing information about US war crimes.

Assange is being used as a deterrent to show that those who publish the truth will be punished

Wikileaks has been an important part of a free press, with leading UK and US newspapers publishing some of

the secrets which Wikileaks made available

 Peter Tatchell joins the protest

and holds one of the placards defending free speech
