Camden

Camden, London. Sat 4 May 2019

Shops on the High St are a tourist attraction

On the corner by the station Camden Momentum were protesting about Israeli attacks on Palestine killing Palestinians

At Mornington Crescent I passed the splendidly restored Carreras Cigarette Facotry with its two large

black cats guarding the entrance, one of London's best Art Deco buildings. 'Black Cat ' cigarettes were launched

in 1904, but had been registered and used as a trademark for the company in 1876 after the founder's Soho shop
became known as the 'Black Cat shp' after the pet cat that liked to sleep in its window.
The brand name is still used in many countries around the world by the British American Tobacco Group.
