XR Carmen’s Carbon Procession

Westminster, London, UK. Tue 2 Jul 2019

 Carmen in an impressive dress

 and people carrying her train

The XR Carbon Procession met at Ebury Bridge

Carmen rehearses her speech calling on oil companies in the Oil and Gas Climate Initiative (OGCI)

to abandon the pretence they can combat global warming without a huge cut in oil production

 The procession sets off

and stops outside the offices ofItalian multinational oil and gas company ENI

Carmen deivers her speech and looks up at the office windows

And the rest of the procession shouts in support

and we are told more about the company before

 people try to deliver

the Extinction Rebellion Handbook 'This is Not A Drill'

 but the doors are locked

but there is a letter box

Hazard tape in the shape of the centre of the XR Logo marks this as a crime scene

and the protesters shout and raise red hands at the ENI windows

 before they move off

Following Carmen is a procession, silent except for the drums, with people carrying XR flags

The next stop is at a busy street corner

 and again Carmen speaks

 and the siren is turned

But now an opera singer with a great voice has arrived to perform as Carmen

 Everyone listens as she sings
