Vegans Protest Diary Farming

Trafalgar Square, London. Sat 10 Aug 2019

Calves don't die for your cheese. Dairy cows produce up to 10 times as much milk as a calf could drink.
Calves are either fed or killed depending on whether there is a need for them. Farmers keep animals to
 make money, not as pets.

Dairy cows are slaughtered when their milk yeilds make keeping them uneconomic. Farming is a business.

There are good reasons to eat less meat and less diary products, but this trivialises the issue. Good reasons
why some people become vegans, but also good reasons why we should farm some animals to produce
milk and meat. It would be a disaster for the environment if we all became vegan.
