Skipton Castle



 Skipton Castle

 

 

 

 The courtyard with its yew tree, planted in 1659 by by the redoubtable Lady Anne Clifford (1590-1676)

 who oversaw the restoration of the castle after it had been 'slightened' for backing the King in the Civil War
