 Bow Locks and warehousing beside Bow Creek

 Twelvetrees Crescent

 River Lea and Bow Creek with Stratford tower blocks

 

 

 Three Mills in the centre with Stratford behind

 A path now leads down from Twelvetrees Crescent Bridge to the path north beside the River Lea

 and across the bridge to the Limehouse Cut

 Towers at Canary Wharf from the bridge

 can be seen clearly if you walk across

 London's best remaining set of gas holders

 and an area of parkland with memorials to the gas industry and its workers

 with an everlasting flame
     
 

 1939-45 War workers memorial

 1914-1919 - These men died for their country - The Gas Light and Coke Company memorial

 More war memorials for gas workers

 

 

 

 Seven gas holders remain on this site - but are in danger of demolition despite their listing

 Built between 1872 and 1878 the gas holders at Bromley-by-Bow are Grade II listed

 

 Twelvetrees Crescent Bridge from the riverside walkway

 

 The tide was very low. People came up river from Cody Dock in canoes
