Lumsdale & Matlock

Matlock, Derbyshire. Wed 23 Oct 2019

A 1930s 'Moderne' house on the Alfreton Road

Former mill now converted into residential property

 Lumsdale

  Tansley Wood Mills

We walked back down the road a little to view these buildings

 At right is Lumsdale

 Farnsworth’s Bleachworks

The walkway through the historical site begins roughly opposite this wall

Buildings on the west side of the road

and on the east. The path goes up on the other side of the wall - you can see some of the railings

The stream comes down a spectacular series of falls here

a muddy path well used by photographers goes down beside the stream from the tree at top left

The main path leads to a viewpoint beside the tree

 and then leads up

to a higher view beside the ruins of a mill building

There is a rather dangerous looking drop here, and I don't get too close to the edge
