Brumadinho mine disaster vigil

Brazilian Embassy, London. Fri 24 Jan 2020

A banner with hand-written messages of solidarity calling for Justice for Brumadinho

People light candles as the vigil begins

and hold the Solidarity with Brumadinho banner in front of the Brazilian Embassy

 'Justice for Brumadinho - #EndCorporateImpunity'

Organised by the London Mining Network, the vigil was supported by groups including Brazilians for Democracy

CAFOD, Amnesty International UK, War on Want and Global Justice Now

'Justice for Brumadinho - and the Brazilian flag flies high above the embassy. Brazilian state prosecutors charged 16 people with murder and

environmental crimes on 21 January 2020. So we may see at least some 'Justice 4 Brumadinho'

People hold photogrpahs of some of the 272 victims - probably 286 including those still missing

Many who died either were workers at the mine or their family members

A Brazilian woman speaks about Brumadinho

Protesters from the Global Women's Strike at the vigil

Global Women's Strike have clearly written posters

'People of Brumadinho we are with you!'

A man speaks about visiting Brumadinho and meeting the family members of some of the victims

'Billionaires Are Killing the Planet' and London is the centre of the world's mining industries and other major climate criminals
